Francesca Dantini (Rome, 1966) is a graphic designer and multimedia artist who merges
analog and digital techniques, reinterpreting
past icons and intimate, familiar visions
through a pop aesthetic.

Drawing from her own memories and
the archive of her mother-in-law,
Agnese De Donato, a renowned Italian photographer of the 1970s, she creates
a dialogue between past and present
with the aim of reviving the timeless
emotions that inhabit old images.

Her works explore themes central to Pop culture,
such as identity in mass society, obsession,
the commodification of images, and consumerism.

Between simulacrum and reality, truth and fiction,
the image is deconstructed, and figures are
reimagined through a process of dreamlike
counterfeiting that brings out timeless images
layered between contemporary clichés
and personal memories.

The name Factory 22, under which Francesca
is known on social media, highlights her exploration,
experimentation with new techniques, possible reinterpretations of the past, and utopian visions
of the future, in a continuous search for meaning
in the reality that surrounds her.
